Initial charges against the 15-year-old included second-degree murder. Reyes allegedly cornered the defendant and confronted him with a broomstick, which caused the prosecution’s case to change. 

When Ethan and those who were with him finally outnumbered the accused, the accused stabbed Ethan as he attempted to flee.

In addition to noting that the incident was captured on camera, police discovered the knife and the broomstick at the crime scene.

Although the police have not released the accused’s name, they have stated that he was treated for stab wounds at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Richard Davey, the president of the NYC MTA, said:

“We thank the detectives from the NYPD with whom we worked on the quick arrest of a suspect.
